Playing in the Superdome for the first time since his brother Tiger was killed in the 2025 Bourbon Street terror attack, the second-year receiver was hurt in a collision with Saints safety Justin Reid. He is headed to injured reserve but is expected back this season.
Jack Bech’s homecoming at the Caesars Superdome ended in the worst possible way on Sunday. The Raiders wide receiver broke his forearm in a collision with Saints safety Justin Reid in the end zone, although Las Vegas went on to win 35-27.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported after the game that Bech will go on injured reserve. He is expected to return later in the season.
"Live Like Tiger"
The game carried extra weight for Bech. It was his first time back in the Superdome, and his first game in his home state of Louisiana, since his brother Tiger was killed in the New Year’s Day 2025 terror attack on Bourbon Street.
He honored his brother during pregame warmups, wearing a shirt printed with "LLT," short for "Live Like Tiger," and orange cleats with black tiger stripes.
In the days before the game, Bech told California Post columnist Vincent Bonsignore that he saw the trip as a chance to "rewrite a wrong." New Orleans had only ever been the place where he lost his brother, and he wanted to leave with a better memory.
A growing role cut short
The Raiders took Bech in the second round of the 2025 draft. In his second season he had become the third most-used receiver in the rotation, with five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown this year. He did not take a snap on Sunday before the injury ruled him out.
