In a short Instagram video filmed in the back of a car, the Minnesota Democrat thanked donors, said she would not be "intimidated" and promised to return to the campaign trail. Federal agents seized her phone, computers and passport last week.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) has asked supporters for more money and promised to get back on the campaign trail. She has kept a low profile since federal agents searched her home earlier this month in an investigation into her immigration status.

In a video of about a minute posted to Instagram on Tuesday night, recorded from the back seat of a car, Omar thanked people who had already donated. She said the money would help her "fight Trump and his administration for trying to intimidate me and so many other people right before the midterm elections."

"We know that they’re running scared, we’re not going to be intimidated, we’re not going to be silenced, we’re not going to be scared," she said.

"Win the House, win the Senate"

Omar said she would be "out there campaigning alongside all of you," with the goal to "win the House, win the Senate and hold this administration accountable."

She warned that the fight ahead would be "very expensive and challenging" and asked viewers to give what they could, "whether you’re able to send $5, $10, $20."

What investigators seized

Homeland Security Investigations agents searched Omar’s home in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 12. As part of what has been described as a years-long probe into possible immigration fraud, federal agents took her phone, notebooks, computers and passport last week.

According to the New York Post, the Trump administration is building a case that could ultimately lead to Omar being deported to Somalia, where she was born. Border czar Tom Homan has said she could lose her naturalized citizenship if fraud is proven.

Omar has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
