San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was arrested at an Ohio trailer park on Sunday after allegedly agreeing to pay a woman $140 for sex, and by Monday he had already resolved the case with a plea deal, court records show.
According to documents filed in Columbiana County Municipal Court, York responded to an advertisement on a website known for prostitution listings and arranged a paid sexual encounter. The meeting point was a trailer park in East Palestine, the small town near the Pennsylvania line best known for the 2023 train derailment.
When York arrived, an agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force took him into custody. The filings note that he was carrying the cellphone investigators say he used to set up the meeting, which formed the basis of a second charge.
He was booked into the county jail on one count of engaging in prostitution and one count of possessing criminal tools.
A one-day sentence and $1,150 in fines
On Monday, York pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct along with the criminal-tools count, according to the court records. He was sentenced to a single day in jail, credited as already served, and ordered to pay $1,150 in fines. A filing from his attorney states that he also completed an online course.
York, 46, grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, roughly half an hour from where he was arrested. He has run the 49ers as chief executive since 2008, when control of the franchise passed to the York family’s younger generation. He and his wife, Danielle Belluomini York, have been married for more than a decade and have two sons.
The 49ers have not commented on the arrest. The team played the Chargers in Los Angeles in an exhibition game on Aug. 20 and closes its preseason against the Raiders in Las Vegas on Aug. 27.
